Sierra Madre Residents to Hold Candlelight Vigil Monday to Urge Rep. Chu to Vote Against Bombing Syria

Sierra Madre, CA -- Residents of Sierra Madre will hold a candlelight vigil at 

Kersting Court on Monday evening to urge Representative Judy Chu to vote

against bombing Syria. The event in Sierra
Madre is part of a national day of action being organized by the
progressive organizations MoveOn.org Civic Action, CREDO Action, Progressive
Change Campaign Committee (PCCC), and Win Without War. Similar vigils will take
place in nearly one hundred cities across the country on Monday.


At the vigil, local residents will urge Rep. Chu to avoid another unnecessary and costly war and vote against the Authorization for Use of Military Force resolution expected to be debated soon in Congress.

The local organizer for the event, Jeff Rudisill said, “I am opposed to 
military intervention in Syria without exploring ALL non-violent resolutions to

remove chemical weapons from Syria, and without the legal authority of the

International Community."
