Patch Blog: Disaster Preparedness for Seniors Gold Award Project a Success

Thank You for helping me achieve my Girl Scout Gold Award!

For those of you who have been following my progress, thank you, I have accomplished my goal.  Over the summer I was able to raise 3,275.00 and put together 250 Disaster Preparedness Kits for the Seniors of Sierra Madre.  In coordination with the Wellness Fair and the help of Adam Matsumoto, senior center program director, I was able to set up a booth and distribute my kits.

I wanted to thank the citizens of Sierra Madre for your continued support in making this project a success.  With the help of family, friends, and neighbors, I was able to achieve my goal.  It was so nice to hand the kits out personally to many of the seniors who have been following my posts on the Patch.  So many of the seniors were so thankful.  Tomorrow I will be distributing the kits to the members of the Rotary Club who assisted me in obtaining a mini grant.  I appreciate everything that you have done for me.

Lastly, I just want to say thank you to our community.  It is so nice to live in a community that appreciates and supports teens who are trying to make a difference.

With much appreciation,

What are these "organizations that can assist educators in providing an additional incomeRead More source for school supplies?" What are the other "big retailers" besides Staples that are helping teachers with rewards programs? This is a great subject but there is little detail here beyond a link to the Staples program. Would love to read a follow up piece with more useful information.
