Local Artists Exhibit Headed to Kersting Court During 'Friday Night Live'

Friends of the Arts has organized an opportunity for local artists to exhibit their work as part of the Chamber's event tonight, Aug. 26.

More treasures of Sierra Madre will be gathered together in one location sharing with us some of their talent and wares for sale and for our general inspiration on this one night. Please come on down and visit with your town's talent.

One of my favorite town artists will be present: , a plein air painter, multi-media artist and artisan working with block prints on vintage linens, to name just to name a few of her interests. 

I've had the pleasure of working with Star during the last year when we organized a series of exhibitions A&B displaying local art in local businesses. She is hard to miss, standing six foot one or more, with long coiling tresses that reach her waist and a warm infectious smile, Star not only is a fine artist but active volunteer in the town's artistic community.  

I recently ran into Star when I was in Cambria at a family wedding. We were hiking and she was painting with a plein air group along our route.  

You'll hear more from me about the artist Star Higgins later, as I'm keeping my commitment to spotlight Sierra Madre's treasures on a continuing basis. 

I will be exhibiting some of my own photographs and jewelry. Torey Wahstrom will also be on hand, as well as many others.
