Storm Update: Expected Rain Levels Lowered

One quarter of an inch to one inch of rain is expected in the Southland this weekend according to the National Weather Service.

The storm watch continues for Sierra Madre and the rest of the Southland as we enter the weekend.

Light rain has already begun to fall over the coast and steady rain may touch down in Sierra Madre late tonight, according to the National Weather Service. Saturday brings a 60 percent chance of rain with showers tapering off Saturday night. Sunday is expected to be clear.

A green flag alert has not been issued for Sierra Madre, but Patch will keep you updated if one occurs. The alert would signal a 100 percent chance of rain.

The NWS originally predicted rain levels to be between two and five inches this weekend. Now, they're saying to expect between one quarter of an inch to one inch of rain. However, that number could change if the storm path is closer to the coast.

Today's high will be around 73 degrees, while Saturday's high will only be around 66 degrees.
