Injured Hiker Air Lifted from Jones Peak

A Los Angeles County Sheriff's helicopter aided a woman who injured herself while hiking with friends above Sierra Madre Saturday afternoon.

The call first went out around 1:30 p.m., according to Sergeant Joe Ortiz of Sierra Madre Police.

A 44-year-old female hiker received a broken ankle somewhere in the area of Jones Peak. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's dispatched Air Rescue 5, while worked to reach the woman and her friends, according to scanner reports. The woman reportedly was about a mile above , within Sierra Madre city limits.

The rescue helicopter located the injured woman after 2 p.m. Because of weight restriction on the helicopter, only the injured woman was airlifted. The hiker was taken to Huntington Memorial Hospital, according to scanner reports.

What are the other "big retailers" besides Staples that are helping teachers with rewards programs? This is a great subject but there is little detail here beyond a link to the Staples program. Would love to read a follow up piece with more useful information.
