Reader's Delight at the L.A. Times Festival of Books

Next weekend, the West Coast's most popular book festival will be held at its new home, the USC campus.

Coming up next weekend, April 30 and May 1, the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books is coming to town. This widely acclaimed annual festival brings book lovers face-to-face with an array of authors as diverse as their literary works of art.

The author attendance sheet is deliciously long, with the likes of everyone from the hilariously sardonic Dave Eggers, founder of McSweeney's, to actors Rainn Wilson and Patton Oswalt and local Pasadena literary heroine, Lisa Dolan, author of the well-received novel, Helen of Pasadena and creator of The Chaos Chronicles blog.

The Festival of Books is a family event that also caters to children by bringing children's books to life. Several children's author will be attending the event. There will also be artistic presentations for kids to enjoy.

Lisa See, who recently joined Sierra Madre at the will also be on hand. If you missed her while she was in town, or if you just can't resist another chance to meet her, be sure to stop by and say hello.

Starting this year, the festival will be conveiently closer to residents in the San Gabriel Valley. The Festival of Books has found a new home down the road on the USC campus.

Held in the past at the UCLA campus in Westwood, the Festival of Books has moved to USC to allow a larger attendance capacity and a more centralized location for Southern Californians.
