This Weekend: Huck Finn Fishing Derby & Campout

It's here! Sierra Madre's Huck Finn Fishing Derby & Campout is this weekend. There are still opportunities to fish even if you're not camping.

Are you ready for some fishing and camping?

The annual Huck Finn Fishing Derby and Campout starts today and goes through Sunday. The three-day event takes place at the Sierra Madre Settling Ponds next to Dapper Field in , 611 E Sierra Madre Blvd.

Campsite registration , but you don't have to camp to get in on all the fishing action.

Here's what you need to know:

Friday: Campout

Today is for campers only! If you're one of them, you already have your campsite reserved and (hopefully) your supplies packed. The Kiwanis Club will provide food for purchase in case you get a craving for something that you forgot to pack.

A whole weekend in a tent with your kids outside in nature... no TV allowed!

Saturday Morning: Fishing Derby for Youth Ages three to 15-years-old

Get out those fishing poles. The fishing derby takes place from 7:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and no advance registration is required. Just show up and you're good to go. 

Participation is $7.00 per person. Prizes will be awarded for the largest catch!

Beginners and novices alike are welcome to participate. Fishing Guides will be on hand and ready to help.

If you need a snack, The Kiwanis Club will provide food available for purchase.

Saturday Afternoon: Family Fishing

All ages are invited to participate in family fishing from 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is $10 for a family of four.

Sunday: Family Fishing

Family fishing returns all day on Sunday. The event runs from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and admission is $10 for a family of four.

What are the other "big retailers" besides Staples that are helping teachers with rewards programs? This is a great subject but there is little detail here beyond a link to the Staples program. Would love to read a follow up piece with more useful information.
