PHS to Host Low Cost Vaccination Clinic at Memorial Park

Dog and cat owners can get their pets vaccinated and microchipped onsite between 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Thursday. Dog licenses are available for purchase as well.

The Pasadena Humane Society will host a low cost vaccination clinic for your furry loved ones at Memorial Park in Sierra Madre on Thursday.

The clinic at 222 West Sierra Madre Boulevard will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.. Veterinarians from PHS will be on hand to administer rabies shots and other vaccines to both cats and dogs. Participants are reminded that all dogs should be on leash, and cats should be in carriers.

Dog licenses for Arcadia, La Cañada Flintridge, Sierra Madre, South Pasadena and San Marino will be available for purchase as well. Microchipping services for your dog or cat are also available onsite for a charge of $20, which includes registration.

All dogs four months of age and older are required by state, county and city ordinances to be vaccinated against rabies. The rabies vaccine provides three years of protection for dogs 12 months and older, one year protection for dogs four to 11 months and for cats from 3 months of age. Also available are DHLPP and bordetella (kennel cough) vaccines for dogs and FVRCP vaccines for cats; these may be given to pets eight weeks and older and provide protection for one year.

The protection of pets against diseases other than rabies is not required by law, but is recommended for the well being of the animal, according to the PHS.

Prices for available vaccines are:

Rabies $6 Dogs 4 months and older, cats 4 months and older 6-in-1 (DHLPP) $15 Dogs 8 weeks and older Bordetella $15 Dogs 8 weeks and older 4-in-1 (FVRCP) $15 Cats 8 weeks and older

Payments for services are accepted in cash and checks. PHS organizers suggest arriving early to avoid long lines and crowds.

What are these "organizations that can assist educators in providing an additional incomeRead More source for school supplies?" What are the other "big retailers" besides Staples that are helping teachers with rewards programs? This is a great subject but there is little detail here beyond a link to the Staples program. Would love to read a follow up piece with more useful information.
