Pat Alcorn Honored as Sierra Madre's Older American of the Year

Pat Alcorn was honored by beloved friends and family as the 2011 Older American of the Year.

It was a full house at the Hart Park Senior House at in celebration of Pat Alcorn as this year's . Pat was recognized by her friends and family for her dedicated volunteer service to Sierra Madre since 1964 and humbly accepted her award, noting the importance of volunteering without expecting anything in return.

An active member of the community for many years, currently co-chair of the and past President of the Sierra Madre Civic Club, a graduate of the first Sierra Madre Citizen's Emergency Response Team training, as well as serving as Garden Tour Docent, it is no wonder why the chose Pat as this year's winner.

What are the other "big retailers" besides Staples that are helping teachers with rewards programs? This is a great subject but there is little detail here beyond a link to the Staples program. Would love to read a follow up piece with more useful information.
