Free Class: Downloading eBooks at the Library

Make your summer reading digital with help from the Sierra Madre Library.

If you have a Kindle, iPad, Nook or other e-device, you can download free eBooks from the .

To help residents take advantage of their expansive e-offerings, the library is holding free classes this summer that will show patrons exactly how to download the books onto their devices.

The class, called "Summer Reading and E-Books," will include a demonstration followed by hands-on practice. Residents are encouraged to bring their e-readers to class. Residents must have a valid library card to download e-books (if you don't have one yet- staff will be able to assist you).

The first class takes place Saturday June 9 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the library. Here's the complete class schedule:

Morning Sessions
Saturday, June 9, 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Monday, June 25, 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Saturday, June 30, 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Saturday, July 7, 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Wednesday, July 25, 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Evening Sessions
Tuesday, June 19, 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Tuesday, July 17, 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Monday, July 30, 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

What are these "organizations that can assist educators in providing an additional incomeRead More source for school supplies?" What are the other "big retailers" besides Staples that are helping teachers with rewards programs? This is a great subject but there is little detail here beyond a link to the Staples program. Would love to read a follow up piece with more useful information.
