Council Gets Update on Sierra Madre's Rose Parade Float

Sierra Madre's 2013 float, “The Sky’s the Limit," is under construction at Sierra Madre's float barn.

At Tuesday's City Council meeting, Bob Young, president of Sierra Madre Rose Float Association provided an update of  Sierra Madre's 2013 float, “The Sky’s the Limit.”

Young showed the Council a rendering of the float, which was created by Charles Meier.  The rendering, which can also be viewed on the association's website, has clouds and rainbows and prominently features a large kite gliding on the wind.

Young also brought a photo of last year’s float that he presented to Mayor Josh Moran.  Young said that the metal framing is ready for screening and volunteers are needed to help out.

“The birds are made, the rainbows are up, the kites are up,” he said, and added that volunteers don’t need float-building skills to work on the project.  The float barn is open on Sundays and SMRFA will be adding Wednesdays and probably Saturdays as well.

What are these "organizations that can assist educators in providing an additional incomeRead More source for school supplies?" What are the other "big retailers" besides Staples that are helping teachers with rewards programs? This is a great subject but there is little detail here beyond a link to the Staples program. Would love to read a follow up piece with more useful information.
