Sachar’s stories tell the quirky tales of the children at a school that is mistakenly built one classroom wide by thirty stories high. Sachar’s eccentric tales are entertaining to read for children, which is why the students in Miss Palmer’s class have emulated his writing style.

The short stories published in the first installment of the Mountain Views News run were “Math” by Ava Slocum, “Yogurt” by Luke O. and “The New Hand Game” by Candace Karasarkisian.
