Local Artisans Find a Home at Belle's Nest

Sierra Madre shop offers affordable gifts and more made by local artists.

The warm, inviting smell of the holiday season filled the air inside the  last Friday evening when the store was welcomed to the Sierra Madre business community as part of the Chamber of Commerce's .

In business since just this last February, Belle's Nest prides itself on being a place where local artists can showcase and sell their arts and crafts at affordable prices not typically expected from smaller niche boutiques.

Following a successful "Black Friday" that store owners said represented the second-best single day of sales since they opened, the ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by friends and family as well as other members of the local business community. Many of the same crew that attended the ribbon-cuttings at and earlier in the evening were on hand to welcome Belle's Nest to town. Executive Director Bill Coburn presented store owners with a framed certificate recognizing their membership in the organization and their contribution to the local business environment.

Billed as "a store of pure creativity," Belle's Nest is actually a collective of unique artists and fine handcrafters gathered in one location to show and sell their wares.
