Julie and Walter Williams Receive 'Distinguished Lasallian Award'

Annual award recognizes contributions to the school above and beyond the average contributor and/or volunteer.

recognized Julie and Walter Williams for their contributions to the school by awarding them with the Distinguished Lasallian Award on Sept. 11 at the 23rd annual Crystal Circle Dinner.

“This prestigious award is given annually to an individual or organization that has greatly contributed to the enrichment of a Catholic education for students,” La Salle’s John Blackstock said in a written statement announcing the award.

La Salle President Dr. Richard Gray and Principal Patrick Bonacci presented the award to the Williams, both of whom were founding members of the Board of Regents.

Currently, Walt serves as the Mission Support Committee Chair, while Julie chairs the Board Development Committee.

Their son Andrew graduated from La Salle in 2004.

In addition to the Distinguished Lasallian Award , the annual Crystal Circle Dinner at La Salle recognizes individuals and organizations who have made contributions to the school totaling $1,000 or more over the past year.

In its first year, 1989, the Crystal Circle had just 11 members. Since that time, membership has grown considerably, with 379 individuals, couples, and organizations comprising the membership for the 2010-2011 school year.
