Interactive 'Cinderella' Returning to Playhouse

The participation musical "Cinderella," featuring original music from jazz vocalist Jane Fuller, will run at the Sierra Madre Playhouse in February.

Renowned jazz vocalist Jane Fuller stars in the title role of “Cinderella,” a new musical version of the classic tale that features her original songs. This musical proved so popular with adults as well as children in its two previous engagements at the , that we’re bringing it back again.

As director June Chandler explains, there are plenty of opportunities for kids in the audience to directly participate : “ The children in the audience will all play Cinderella’s best friends, the mice. They’ll be kept very busy making Cinderella’s breakfast, cleaning the house, singing and dancing with Cinderella. The girls in the audience will be transformed into princesses and invited to the ball to dance with the handsome Prince Charming.”

The adults in the audience, meanwhile, get to enjoy the singing performance of one of Los Angeles’ top vocal talents, who calls her music “jazz-inflected pop.”

The cast includes, in addition to Jane Fuller: Abraham Luna, Ron Johnston, Shirley McConnell, Jane Park, Hal Sweesy, Guy Crawford, Donna Ieraci, Helen Frederick, and Yvonne Durant.

The show runs Saturdays at 11 a.m. from February 4- March 3.

Tickets are $18 for adults, while children 12 and under are $12.
