Armenian Groups Endorse Chris Holden for Assembly

The Armenian Community Coalition endorsed the Pasadena City Council Member on Thursday, Sept. 29.

Pasadena City Council Member Chris Holden picked up the endorsement of the Armenian Community Coalition on Thursday in his bid to represent Sierra Madre and other nearby communities in the newly redrawn State Assembly district.

The group announced their endorsement of Holden while pointing to an underrepresentation for Armenians in local and state government, the Pasadena Star-News reported Sunday.

Holden is vying to replace Assemblyman Tim Donnelly in representing the area which, following , no longer includes Donnelly's hometown of Twin Peaks, CA.

The new district, as drawn and approved by the , covers an area including Sierra Madre, Altadena, Pasadena, South Pasadena and Monrovia, as well as a group of cities in eastern Los Angeles County that are geographically linked to the western cities only through the Angeles National Forest including San Dimas, parts of Claremont and La Verne and Upland.
